Friday 3rd October, 9.00pm - Village Hall

The Dazed Minded

tdm_logo

"Female-led Indie Sleaze Garage Rock!"

The Dazed Minded are a 4-piece female-led garage rock band from Reading, bringing the 2000's indie sleaze vibe back into the 2020's. Influenced by indie classics such as Miles Kane, Kings of Leon and Razorlight.

We've been wanting to get them into the ZZF line-up for ages, a catchy mix of musical styles from melodic indie rock to a heavier guitar-led britpop vibe. Excellent harmonies and great hooks, we can't wait to welcome The Dazed Minded to Zig Zag Fest!

Saturday 4th October, 12noon - 6pm - Village Hall

The afternoon session in the village hall is more laid back with a selection more "acoustic" acts performing from lunchtime onwards.

1.40pm : Sam Meller

Grunge folk artist Sam Meller captivates listeners with his scratchy yet melodic vocals and his straight from the heart acoustic guitar sound. He’s been described as “Kurt Cobain meets Elliot smith with a bit of Damien rice in there somewhere”, so if you’re a fan of any of those artists then you’ll love Sam Meller

2.20pm : Two For Joy

3.10pm : Retrophonic Pete

Pete is an amazing one man band! If we're lucky he'll be doing his pop-master challenge again. He'll play a tune and the audience needs to guess the artist, title track and year of release. Prizes for the highest score!

Formed in the vibrant glam punk scene of mid-90s Hollywood, The Lürxx are a unique glam punk band known for their passionate advocacy for nature and animal rights, creating a distinctive sound that blends high-energy punk and rock with acoustic guitar, recorders (!) and environmental activism. Their sound draws major influences from late 60s and early 70s rock music as well as from late 70s punk rock, from a time when music was at the forefront of societal change. Their music is a powerful call to action, celebrating the beauty of nature and urging listeners to join the fight against speciesism and environmental destruction. Their songs often feature themes of resilience, survival, and the interconnectedness of all beings.
